Kempton Park is a city in Ekurhuleni in the Gauteng province, South Africa. Kempton Park has been part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since the year 2000.

O. R. Tambo International Airport (Africa's busiest airport) is located in Kempton Park. The international airport plays a dominant role in the local economy. Several airline and other aviation related companies are headquartered in Kempton Park. 

Kempton Park is the location for many new developments as there is a vast amount of space to work with, adding to the overall residential growth of the city.

Kempton Park is a very family-oriented city - perfect for raising families. The homes in the area are of a traditional and spacious nature, suiting most starter families. Some areas also cater for the more exclusive properties. There are many new housing developments and Estates to choose from.

The area has plenty of schools to offer young families and is also central to many of the major shopping malls.
 

Spartan is a large industrial zone which houses many chemical manufacturing and other industrial sites. North-west of Kempton Park lies the heavy industry suburb of Modderfontein with one of the main companies there, the AECI Dynamite factory. Kempton Park also has a large coal power station named Kelvin power station which supplied power to the City of Johannesburg.

  • The Kempton Park Golf Course, first designed in 1965, in Spartan, is known as the club where Ernie Els learnt how to play golf
  • For entertainment, residents can visit the Swartspruit Recreational Area, which offers a picturesque dam with picnic and braai facilities.
  • The Emperor's Palace Casino is also located in Kempton Park. Emperor's Palace offers a luxury Hotel, entertainment and excitement at the Casino, A Convention Centre as well as numerous shops and theatres.

  • The spotless beauty of the South African terrain is put on a display of the prettiest sort at the Modderfontein Nature Reserve, which is only a short drive from Johannesburg's city centre and the OR Tambo International Airport. While any visit to the reserve is well worth it, it really does promise something special when tackled from the saddle of a bicycle.
  • The Diamond Works Duty Free, International Departures, O.R. Tambo International Airport. Witness first hand, the art of diamond cutting and the careful craftsmanship of jewellery manufacturing. The most famous of the South African diamonds; The Cullinan, is celebrated, as a replica and is showcased at The Diamond Works Institute, along with a visual feature exhibiting the world's most iconic historical stones.
